ACUPUNCTURE & TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a part of a comprehensive medical system that has been used for thousands of years. It recognizes that everyone has vital energy, Qi, that flows through the body along channels, called meridians. Qi nourishes your body to keep you healthy, vibrant and strong. When there is blockage in flow of Qi, there is pain and/or disease. TCM includes Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, breathing exercises and nutritional recommendations.
Chinese Medicine addresses both the symptoms and the root of health problems. Because of this, it can address a large number of medical and psychological disorders with minimal to no side-effects. However, we insist on partnering with your doctor to determine a proper course of treatment. Some medications need close monitoring and planning.
Treatments may include: Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Non-Needle techniques such as acupressure and tuning forks, cupping, massage and diet and lifestyle changes.
Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine can treat a variety of conditions including: Allergies, Asthma, Arthritis, Back & Neck Pain, Depression, Anxiety, Digestive Disorders, Infertility, Headaches/Migraines, Menopause, Menstrual Issues, Sleep Issues and more.
WHAT TO EXPECT
THE EXPERIENCE
You or your child's initial appointment will be about an hour and a half, and involves a thorough review of health history, current medications and a review of any concerns that you would like to address with treatment. Ample time is given for questions, review of treatment goals, length of expected treatment course and recommendations for diet and lifestyle. Acupuncture and/or other necessary therapeutics may be recommended depending on individual condition.
We take care to explain all treatment to parents and children and never force anyone to do anything that is uncomfortable to them. If adults or children are apprehensive about needles, we can use alternative methods such as tuning forks, acupressure, massage or herbal medicine to achieve treatment goals.
During treatments, adults lay comfortably on the treatment table or a recliner, while children have the option of sitting on their parents lap or lying on the treatment table. Parents are welcome to stay in the room during the child's treatment or in the waiting area. Most adults and children enjoy acupuncture treatments and often need to be nudged awake minutes after needles are removed. People usually report feeling calm and relaxed after a treatment.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) have been used to treat adults and children in Asian countries for centuries. It is very effective in treating both acute and chronic conditions and is safe, drug-free and holistic. Common childhood conditions we can treat with TCM are: asthma, colds, frequent respiratory illnesses, allergies, eczema and skin conditions, ear infections, sinus problems, headaches and migraines, bedwetting, digestive disorders, sleep problems, anxiety and depression, hyperactivity and menstrual problems.
Our mission is to provide the help you and your children need to be healthy and happy. We help patients through acupuncture, acupressure, magnet therapy, food therapy, Chinese medical massage, education and other holistic techniques. We may also recommend herbal medicine in conjunction with acupuncture and other therapies.
Acupuncture and TCM offer a safe, natural way to assist the health and healing of the body by activating the body's innate healing ability. Children heal much more easily and quickly than adults. If problems are addressed early in life, it is much easier and quicker to correct the imbalances that are causing the problems.
The most common question people ask is if it too painful for babies and young children?
Nope!! Acupuncture is a very gentle, nearly painless treatment. The needles are smaller than the width of three hairs and are only superficially inserted into the skin. Insertion is quick and gentle-commonly, there is no pain or only brief discomfort. Babies and very young children may not need needles at all (we have other therapeutic options for treatment) or the needle may be inserted and removed almost immediately.
If the needles are retained, they may be left in for a few minutes or up to 30 minutes for older children and teens. The retention of needles cause the release of endorphins and relaxation. Most people enjoy this relaxation time! The benefits of holistic medicine far outweigh any concerns a parent may have about the child being uncomfortable.
FACIAL REJUVENATION
facial acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture uses the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the true anti aging Medicine, to help your body create a more youthful appearance. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a safe, nonsurgical method of using ultra-fine needles in the body and face to stimulate collagen production and muscle tone in the face, moistens skin by increasing circulation of blood and lymph to the face, stimulates the muscles around the face to pull and lift the skin, tightens the pores, brightens the eyes and reduces the evidence of stress in the face. Treatments are focused on supporting overall health with attention to the face to make you look rejuvenated and to feel revitalized. Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture: reduce or eliminate fine lines, improve muscle tone, soften larger wrinkles, reduce puffiness, lift droopy eyelids and increase collagen production.
